The comfort or hybrid bike is a perfect choice for
those leisurely weekend rides, family outings, getting
some fun exercise, commuting, running errands or
riding around campus.

While
hybrid
and comfort
bikes share
many of
the same
features
their difference
is in wheel
size. The
comfort
bike uses
the 26” tire
commonly
found on mountain bikes. These wide tires provide
a comfortable cushion of air that floats over bumps
and rough terrain. The comfort bike can also be
fitted with knobby tires for light off road cycling.
With
similar wheel diameter as a road bike, 700c, the
hybrid bike is faster on pavement than a mountain
or comfort bike, but not as fast as a road bike.
The hybrid’s wider tire offers
more stability than the skinnier road bike tire.
The upright riding position and cushy contact points
of the comfort bike help make every ride fun and
relaxing. And if the path or road does get rough
or bumpy, features such as suspension forks and
suspension seatposts help to insulate you from
these jolts for a smooth, more comfortable ride.
The adjustable stem allows the handlebars to be
lowered or raised to fit your comfort level. And
almost most importantly, the comfort bike come
with a saddles equipped with springs, gel and foam
to give the softest ride possible. The comfort
bike, although not high performance, is less expensive
and easy to get used to for your first ride.

A
bit less rugged
than the wide tired
comfort bike, hybrids
are perfect for the
casual cyclist
riding for fitness
and fun and for
the urban commuter.
A hybrid bike is great for pavement or dirt road
riding, but not for serious off-road since they
can’t be fitted with wider tires. As with
the comfort bikes, the adjustable stem allows the
handlebars to be lowered or raised to fit your
comfort level. Soft, sleek saddles offer comfort
and efficiency in pedaling.
Combining features
from both road and mountain bikes, the hybrid and
comfort bikes are designed for flexibility, stability
and comfort. They offer flexibility to ride on dirt
roads, paths, smooth pavement or bumpy city streets.
The wider tires offer stability and control on the
road and the wider gear ratios allows for easier
hill climbing. Either bike will allow you to enjoy
a comfortable bike for errands, leisure and fitness
riding around town on streets or easy trails. If
you ride primarily on the pavement, the hybrid bike
will meet your cycling needs. If you see yourself
enjoying light off-road trail riding you may want
to consider the versatility of the comfort bike.

and Hybrid bicycles. Come in and let us show you
